Prayer requests from Joy Scott

As you pray this week, please be lifting up Joy Scott and the situation in Cambodia in your prayers. Joy is supported through our mission fund as she seeks to share the gospel to the Stung Treng province in Cambodia through her heath and development work with YWAM.

Greetings everyone!

I would like to ask for prayer for there to be no flooding in the town. There is flooding in the surrounding areas and loss of life. One nursing student in our girls dorm just made it back from the neighbouring province of Rattanakiri. That night there was a flash flood in which her uncle drowned and 4 others missing. Durian, cashew nut, banana trees and other crops on her family farm totally destroyed, washed away by a river which broke its banks and confluences in Stung Treng province. Who knows how many animals died and crops destroyed ?. If floods subside quickly then newly planted rice will not be affected.
The Sekong river which is in front of my house is very high, about 1 meter from the top of our road. It’s fast flowing so if there is no further rain it will flow on down to the Mekong river about 200 yards further downstream and down to the sea. The river was up this high about a month ago so I got bricks ready to put under my fridge and stove plus books into carrier bags for easy removal to upstairs.
Then the river went down 2m and we didn’t have rain so much. Please pray the same will happen these next few days.
I’m not in danger but it will be very inconvenient to have everything upstairs. My one bathroom is downstairs. Not sure what my cat will do for toileting if all the garden is flooded.
Our office is on higher ground thankfully and I’ll probably have to take Philip and Wendy’s car, my motorbike and bicycle to the office. Again very difficult on a number of fronts.

May I also request prayer for the escalating situation at the Thai Cambodian border. The province next to Stung Treng province has increased tensions. The international and Asian community are trying but so far not succeeding in solving this dispute. Hundreds are displaced and in camps. Each side wants peace of course.

Thank you for praying ?❤️
