Remember Romans 8

For the next three months, we’re digging deep down into the rich soil of the greatest chapter of the greatest letter ever written; Romans, chapter 8.

Eight is a treatise on assurance; the perfect remedy for our fears, doubts and uncertainties. It’s the fullest description of the Holy Spirit’s work in our lives, and, if we take it to heart, it will prompt our praises - even when life is at its darkest.

If we take it to heart? How might we do this?

One way is through memorising the chapter.

It’s not as daunting as it sounds - as we move slowly through the verses, follow along at home, seeking to commit the coming week’s text to memory.

Chuck Swindoll wrote that he knows of no “other single practice in the Christian life more rewarding, practically speaking, than memorizing Scripture. . . . No other single exercise pays greater spiritual dividends! Your prayer life will be strengthened. Your witnessing will be sharper and much more effective. Your attitudes and outlook will begin to change. Your mind will become alert and observant. Your confidence and assurance will be enhanced. Your faith will be solidified.”

If we’re willing to give it the time (5 mins a day is sufficient!) this ancient tradition will bring such sweet fellowship with Jesus: you’ll find your prayers deepened, your reflex to treasure his promises more instinctive and your joy enhanced as you find yourself meditating on his word ‘day and night’.

Attached is a follow along guide for the verses we’ll be covering.
